Drop Thru Bagatelle, Louis Marx & Co. Ltd. U.K. 1974.
Vintage tin plate and plastic bagatelle. This is the U.K. version of the "Scores 'N' Stripes" Bagatelle made by Marx in the U.S.A. The front of the game is injection moulded clear plastic, the base is lithographed tin plate. This particular bagatelle is rather different to most Marx bagatelles in that it uses small steel ball bearings rather than the usual marbles. It's also more complex in that it has a couple of layers of tinplate which slide against each other when a lever is moved. The positioning of various holes in the two tin plate layers allows the balls to be either held in their scoring position or to "Drop Thru" at the end of a players turn when the lever is pushed.
The game is in good condition with minimal wear and is in working order. The box is a little worn with one main flap carefully reattached. Date - early 1960's.
